Reporting to the Educational Services Regional Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of all aspects related to Vacuum Pumps & Systems training programs within the region.
The Training Specialist, Specialist, will manage resource requirements including facilities and materials. The candidate will manage all metrics, desired course outcomes, evaluations and feedback.
Training programs will be delivered at Flowserve facilities and/or at the customer’s location within the region. Training programs will be delivered in-person instructor-led or on a virtual platform. Technical training programs will include vacuum fundamentals as well as focus on the operation, maintenance, and reliability of vacuum pumps and systems
Responsibilities
The Training Specialist, Vacuum Pumps & Systems, will be responsible for the following key accountabilities;
Facilitate training courses and programs on Vacuum Pumps & Systems design, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Facilitate vacuum fundamentals training courses and programs
Deliver various combinations of classroom and hands-on instruction, instructor-led or virtual.
Perform assessments of the participant’s knowledge and skills level.
Support the development of training curriculums based on the outcome of the knowledge and skills assessments and assist in the development of training materials, documents and hands-on training props.
Act as a subject-matter expert on Vacuum Pumps & systems supporting the Global Materials Development Group when required.
Work closely with materials management to define and agree upon program competence standards and recommended working processes and procedures to ensure the most efficient and effective training.
Establish and maintain close working relationships with other internal departments and functions to promote the best interests of Flowserve Corporation.
Continuously monitor progress and provide regular feedback to customer and Flowserve training group.
Work closely with the business and materials management group to define and agree on program updates and improvements as needed.
Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will have;
A bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering with 8 – 10 years' experience gained within relevant industry which at least 10 years of field (hands on) experience or;
A recognized electrical or instrumentation apprenticeship and 10 – 15 years hands-on experience with rotating equipment or ;
5 – 10 years' experience in a similar supervisory role related to rotating equipment (Liquid Ring Pumps, Vacuum Pumps).
Must have a passion for teaching and working with people.
Excellent communication and public speaking skills and a high standard of written and spoken English as well as strong PC skills and experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, and PowerPoint are required.
Competency reading P & I Drawings and DATA sheets.
Knowledge on mechanical drilling, tapping, clearance measuring using feeler gauges, Micrometers, Calipers.
Competency in programming of components using Ehternet, USB, RS232 connections.
Competency using Filezilla, elprotronic flashpro430, PARAdry/PARAlink softwares.
Competency with reading electrical / electronic schematics.
Competency in BUS communication.
Competency with using multimeters, process meters, soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers and cutters.
Demonstrate a working style which is team oriented and values communication, participation and involvement of others
Able to work effectively with high degrees of self-management, making decisions around priorities.
Ability to work closely with customers either face to face or be telephone and is a good verbal and written communicator with a confident and positive manner
Understanding of SHE and OSHA regulations
Be willing to travel (40-50% travel will be required)
Preferred Experience/Skills
Prior Knowledge on Flowserve SiHi Products is a plus.Position Location
