About Training Instructor (Faculty Development)

  Summary About the Position: Position is located at US Army Combined Arms Center, Leader Development & Education, Dean of Academics, Accreditation Division, Fort Leavenworth, KS Responsibilities As a Training Instructor (Faculty Development), you will perform the following duties which is not an all-inclusive list: Plan and execute all aspects of education design and delivery at CGSC in accordance with the Army Learning Model (ALM). Perform research and analysis of new technologies in instructional methodologies and performs work in support of curriculum development in accordance with the Army Learning Model (ALM). Establish design principles and development procedures for multiple instructional programs and systems in a resident and distributed Learning (dL) environment to design, implement and evaluate instructional programs of study. Keep abreast of current trends in educational techniques and methodologies as well as, changes to policy which affect the curriculum. Devise, interpret, or explain to others the need for written policy or procedures in functional areas of expertise and impact/need for revision in other functional areas. Maintain current technical knowledge and experience in the Army's instructional training automation systems. Must exercise exceptional skill in instructional design methods, practices, and programs that are grounded in adult learning theory. Must teach FDD courses to graduate-level faculty multiple times per year (a core competency). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Work which experience teaching and facilitating undergraduate or graduate level adult education curriculum. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Customer Service Decision Making Education / Training Program Administration Education and Training Flexibility Instructional Delivery and Learner Development Integrity/Honesty Interpersonal Skills Learning Manages and Organizes Information Reading Comprehension Self-Management Stress Tolerance Teamwork Training and Education Analysis Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Field (CF) 32 - Training position You may claim military spouse preference (MSP). Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances are not authorized. This position is eligible for situational telework only, including emergency and OPM prescribed "unscheduled telework. Recruitment, Relocation and/or Retention incentives are may be offered for this position, but is NOT guaranteed. This position is a bargaining unit position covered by AFGE local 738.
