  New employees to the State will be paid biweekly. There are 26 biweekly pay periods in a year.

  Description of Job

  About the Work Unit

  This position is in the Office of Employee Development (OED), which supports the achievement of the goals and objectives of CDOT through organizational learning, change management, and supervisor, management, and leadership development and communications.

  About the Position

  This position is primarily responsible for training coordination, administration, and planning activities for diverse training programs offered by OED, such as coordinating Human Resources and HR process training, such as Timekeeper, Family Medical Leave, and others, including supporting the training project lead for such classes with content preparation, reviews, train the trainer assistance, scheduling, course materials, delivery support, learning management system support, etc. In addition, this position is responsible for supporting efforts to ensure the Accessibility of all training content, as well as HR content.

  This position requires a versatile, experienced training coordinator who can manage multiple, time sensitive deliverables and get up to speed quickly on new topics. This position collaborates with and supports other OED team members to continuously improve training coordination, content and delivery. This position works with subject matter experts (SMEs) across CDOT in support of their job duties.

  This position must be a team player in all ways who both brings new, innovative ideas to the table and who learns from the other team members to improve their own skills. This position helps assess training needs, develop and evolve training content and coordination to meet those needs, deliver training, and evaluate the effectiveness of training based on measurable outcomes. Lastly, this position supports special training projects as assigned.

  Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  Training Coordination

  Work with OED team members, SMEs, the OED Program Director, and the training lead for HR process training to support and deliver various training for CDOT employees.

  Help strategize, plan and coordinate training content for OED training programs, ensuring training content is accurate and best serves customer needs.

  Help plan and coordinate implementation of new training for CDOT, including implementation of classes, content, and materials.

  Provide technical assistance for reviewing training that needs to be changed or updated.

  Partner with and support SMEs who help develop and deliver content for training.

  Support preparation, writing, and publication of communications related to various OED training.

  Support instructors in terms of preparation, development, training delivery and issue resolution. Also, support instructors in terms of content delivery, coaching them on training best practices to deliver content effectively and in line with OED training delivery standards.

  Partner with the OED manager and other OED team members to deliver communications to advertise training, fill seats, raise awareness of training offerings, and prepare employees for upcoming steps.

  Update and maintain content on the Learning Lane website for CDOT employees who take OED training. Write content for programs this role supports.

  Support content for programs such as LinkedIn Learning and other programs as advised.

  Support the comprehensive effort to bring our diverse training content, including reference materials, handouts, guides, presentations and more, into alignment with CDOT’s Accessibility guidelines.

  In support of Accessibility, learn about Accessibility guidelines and how to apply them to various learning formats, including instructor-led training, virtual ILT, and so forth.

  In support of the OED Program Director, assist with the broader HR effort to remediate HR and OED content to ensure alignment with Accessibility requirements.

  Help administer surveys, assessments, and reports about OED training programs.

  Administer training in the LMS, including classes, e-learning, roles, system structure, reporting, external user provisioning, e-commerce tasks, etc.

  Become an expert in supporting training programs in the LMS. Help troubleshoot issues with training content in the LMS. Administer training in the LMS, including classes, roles, system structure, reporting, etc.

  Support development, delivery, and administration of assessment based training programs. Help strategize approach, select training type, etc.

  Follow LMS standards, prepare reports, look up information, and other LMS tasks as assigned.

  Training Moderation, Production and Delivery

  Coordinate internal employee training that serves all CDOT employees; develop and coordinate training content and materials, such as instructional demos, step-by-step instructions, references, etc.

  Deliver selected in-person training included, but not limited to, New Employee Orientation.

  Align to our core OED trainers’ strategy, approach, and delivery.

  Serve as a virtual training session moderator/producer for others who are delivering such training.

  Support other training delivery related duties as necessary.

  Be capable to instruct using virtual platforms (e.g., Google Meet, Adobe Connect, etc.)

  When traveling for training, ship and/or transport training materials, laptop and other items and set up and breakdown room and technology.

  Support the continuous improvement and evolution of our training programs. Partner with the OED team to implement changes and improvements.

  Act as a training resource, answer questions related to individual/departmental/organizational training and learning.

  Complete other tasks as assigned.

  Work Environment:

  Your schedule will primarily be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. work hours, Monday to Friday, but we are flexible to meet your work/life balance needs while ensuring CDOT business needs are met. As a result, this position would be eligible for a flexible schedule, with agreement from the supervisor.

  This position will work a hybrid schedule with a combination of in-office and remote work.

  May require up to 10% travel throughout the state, including overnight travel.

  This position may be subject to many interruptions while handling multiple projects.

  Operate in a politically sensitive environment.

  An ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment is a must.

  Required to operate CDOT vehicles.

  An ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (e.g., boxes of training materials, set up training rooms, etc.) is required.

  Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

  Minimum Qualifications

  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Curriculum & Instruction, Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Leadership, Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration, or another field of study closely related to the duties of this position.

  AND

  At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience in any combination of the following:

  Providing administrative support and/or training coordination and support that involves coordinating documents, reference materials and other content.

  Supporting events and/or training or educational activities in a professional environment.

  Developing, delivering, and/or coordinating professional development training for adults.

  Substitutions:

  Additional work experience that provided the same kind, amount and level of knowledge acquired in the required education, will substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required bachelor’s degree but not for the specific experience.

  A graduate degree in one of the fields of study listed above will substitute for the required professional experience on a year-for-year basis. For example, a master’s degree would substitute for 2 years of the required experience.

  Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Gmail and Google Applications, and SAP, and the ability to quickly learn other software systems.
