DescriptionVehicle Tire Technicians are responsible for maintaining the tires of the vehicle fleet. This position routinely requires moderate to extreme physical exertion and may require prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, and squatting. Vehicle tire technicians are exposed to extreme weather conditions and shop environment, as well as traffic during road calls.Responsibilities of Position:Maintain tires of fleet vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.Inspect fleet vehicle tires, wheels, and related components per company maintenance schedules.Identify and replace work tires, wheels, and related components.Mount and dismount tires.Perform tire-related roadside replacement.Maintain and secure tire inventory and tire equipment to ensure safe working order.Perform routine housekeeping duties related to tire inventory, tools, shop, and work areas.Professional interaction with internal and external customers.May assist in other areas of the vehicle maintenance shop as needed.Maintain accurate records (time, repair orders, and parts usage) on the computer.Respond to oil spills, anti-freeze spills, miscellaneous garbage / debris spills and clean using brooms, shovels, floor dry, pressure washer / vac truck, skid steer etc.Other duties as assigned.Skills & Abilities Needed for Position:Current TIA certification preferred or ability to obtain from internal training during employment.Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, and climbing).Good mechanical aptitude with basic knowledge of tire repair and replacement.General knowledge of components of truck wheels and tires.Ability to move, stack, and store wheels, tires, and other heavy components alone or with the aid of equipment.Must be able to use torque and impact wrenches.Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.Must possess the necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.Additional Working Conditions/Aspects:Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas.Exposure to residential and commercial waste.Ability to work flexible hours; overtime, weekends, and/or holidays.Ability to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays.Legally eligible to work in the United States.Valid driver's license (if applicable).Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.Must be able to read and speak the English language.This job description is intended to describe the general nature, complexity, and level of work to be performed by employees assigned to this position and is not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties and/or skills required.
