JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Therapy Assistant-Entry works as an integral partof the health care team, working under the direction of licensed nursingstaff. This position participates and assists in activity therapy andsocial engagement of members and helps maintain the general cleanlinessand supply inventory of assigned patient care areas. The incumbentprovides safe transportation for members to and from activities programsconducted on-campus. This position is responsible for assistance in setup and cleaning of meal areas in compliance with food safety andsanitation standards. Instruct patient in activities and techniques,such as music, art, or relaxation techniques, under the direction ofnursing staff. Encourage patients to participate in leisure activities.Performance of job duties require the ability to lift, carry, push,pull, and reach; work standing, sitting, kneeling or in squattingpositions; stand and/or walk, up to 75 percent of eight-hour day; climb,bend, and perform sustained physical activity; and use special safetyequipment and wear protective clothing and personal protective equipment(PPE). ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifiedapplicants will have experience such as: - Implementing activitiesprogramming for individuals and groups, based on client interests, needsand resources; and/or - Working with elderly clients of varyingphysical, mental and emotional abilities; and/or - Observing changes inclient behavior or special needs and reporting to appropriate staff;and/or - Using computers; and/or - Working on a team and independently;and/or - Using infection control practices; and/or - With organizationand time management; and/or - Using computers and applications; and/or -Working on a team Per Wisconsin Statute 230.26, Wisconsin residency isrequired for LTE appointments. Employment in this position is contingentupon passing a pre-employment tuberculosis (TB) skin test.
