This is a benefited, full-time position working 12-hour night shifts on varied days of the week. Located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

In this role, your primarily responsibilities will consist of setting up patients on monitors and performing cardiac monitoring. You will experience patient volumes on average of up to 40 patients.
The Telemetry/Monitoring Tech duties primarily include:
Responsibility for monitoring patients on cardiac and/or SPO2 (continuous oxygen saturation) via telemetry equipment.Monitoring patients when transporting to and from procedures/units.Interpreting cardiac rhythms/SPO2 and reports changes to the RN.Ability to prioritize notification to the RN based on emergent patient care needs.Identifying and maintaining integrity of the telemetry system and reports all malfunctions and needed adjustments.Responsibility for printing telemetry strips and documenting per unit standards.Responsibility for placing patient on cardiac/SPO2 monitor, change batteries, and set up leads.Performing clerical and other duties as requested per unit standard.*If you are selected to move forward in the process and interview for this position, be prepared to take a proctored telemetry test during the interview. *
Required Qualifications:
Must successfully complete the Scripps Health EKG Examination during interview processAmerican Heart Association BLS for Health Care ProvidersPreferred Qualifications:
Completion of formal telemetry training which may include a class or online course OR electrocardiogram (EKG) OR Arrhythmia Certification course OR completion of a Paramedic, Cardio-Vascular, EMT, MD, or RN Program, OR other cardiac related programs6 months of Cardiac Monitoring experience preferredBasic Arrhythmia CertificationJob: *Pt Care Technical
