The Technical Specialist will act as a leader in establishing microbiology capabilities and direct research and development within the laboratory. You will aid in the development and growth of the microbiology department and will oversee the implementation of new microbiology technologies and instrument platforms in the lab. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. This position will be a full-time position in Cincinnati, OH.ResponsibilitiesPerform moderate and high-complexity microbiology testing;Develop method validations for microbiology testing in our expanding laboratory;Perform clinical sample management with appropriate chain of custody protocols;Maintain overview of inventory and orders;Comply with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP);Assist in maintaining accreditation standards, to include all check sheets and quality control information sheets (CAP and CLIA standards).QualificationsExperience in microbial identification, susceptibility testing, disk diffusion, and microbial cultures;Bachelor's degree or higher in Life Sciences or other relevant field requiredPreferredHave at least 4 years (2 for Masters) of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing within the specialty of microbiology with a minimum 6 months experience in high complexity testing within the subspecialty of bacteriology.Medpace OverviewMedpace is a full-service clinical contract research organization (CRO).
