The Technical Procurement position is a critical part of the Operations team driving the purchasing and vendor management as well as supporting general Operations functions. This position requires a solid understanding of the sales order process and drives order fulfillment to ensure on time delivery to customers while ensuring all procedures and processes are followed. The successful candidate requires only general supervision, ability to multitask and work independently to achieve the position goals. Strong communication skills with both external and internal customers and vendors are necessary as well as strong organizational skills are required to ensure work is accurate and able to meet established deadlines.
Purchasing:Point person for TOPTICA Photonics, Inc. purchasing. Office, lab supplies, production materials, etc.Ensure continuous supply of required optical components goods and materials and communicate anysupply problems. which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible. Runs reports todetermine production material requirements.Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price. Works closely with vendors and internalteam to source alternative vendors and/or items which, with approval, maximize value to TOPTICAPhotonics, Inc.Lead bid process / recommend vendors.Verifies purchase requisitions, ensures proper sign off.Authorizes payment by forwarding accurate receiving documentation.Drive annual review of existing vendors, reliability, pricing, service etc.
Operational Support:Cross trains to support Order Processing on an as needed basisSpecial projects as requiredOther duties as assigned
Required skills:2 to 5 years of Supply Chain/Operations experience in photonic manufacturing environmentMust be able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.High degree of business ethics and accountabilityStrong business and financial acumenProficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)Proficient with ERP systems/Microsoft Navision or Microsoft DynamicsEffective in both written and verbal communicationsOccasional lifting to 25 lbs.All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.Unrestricted right to work in United States required
Qualifications and Competencies requirements:Associate degree in business administration and 1-2 years of related experience; or an equivalentcombination of education and experienceExperience purchasing optical and photonics materials preferred.Experience in logistics processes in a high-tech, photonics environment is a plus.
