Under the direction of a supervising classroom teacher and school administration, the teaching assistant will provide support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for assisting with the supervision, care, and instruction of students; implementing academic and behavioral plans; and data collection. Job Qualifications

Possession of or eligibility to receive a Level 1 Teaching Assistant certification in New York State. For information on obtaining a TA certification, see : Level I Teaching Assistant

Possess a comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction as it relates to academic and social/emotional learning.

Possess a comprehensive knowledge of childhood development.

Demonstrates integrity, honesty, a lifelong commitment to learning.

Is skilled at establishing positive working relationships.

Alternatives to the above qualifications may be made as the Superintendent and Board of Education find appropriate.
