TAX MANAGER - Well-Respected Public Accounting Firm in Buford, GA

Key Responsibilities:

Review and oversee the preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and other tax returns.

Lead income tax projections, performing complex analysis and scenario modeling.

Identify potential tax issues, propose solutions, and communicate them to clients.

Serve as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced team members.

Manage multiple tax and accounting projects, ensuring efficient communication with clients and team members.

Provide clients with accurate and timely deliverables in line with agreed-upon budgets and timeframes.

Anticipate client needs, proactively offering solutions and recommendations.

Review and respond to IRS notices, drafting appropriate responses.

Participate in performance evaluations and contribute to personnel decisions.

Consult with clients on special projects as needed.

Contribute to the firm's growth through involvement in committees, training, recruitment, and future planning.

Adhere to firm policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Foster positive working relationships and contribute to the overall team culture.

Requirements

Minimum of 7+ years of recent tax and accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

Active CPA license.

Experience with QuickBooks Online, CCH Axcess, or CCH ProSystem is a plus.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, and comfortable working in a Windows environment.

Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

In-depth knowledge of tax laws, accounting principles, and tax planning strategies.

Exceptional communication, analytical, and research skills.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and the growth of the firm.

Strong client-focused work ethic, delivering high-quality results.

Due to the nature of the role, a criminal background check is required.

High level of discretion when handling confidential information.

Comfort with technology and a willingness to quickly learn new tools. Our firm is high-tech and paperless.
