Job Purpose
The Light Vehicle EV Systems Engineering Manager is responsible for managing a systems engineering team and coordination of all system engineering activities encompassed within ASPICE SYS.1 through SYS.5, including intake of customer requirements, their analysis and decomposition, system architectural design, system integration and test. Manager will be responsible for working closely with product line chief engineers, engineering program managers and other supporting activities. Manager will also be responsible for coordinating activities of supporting groups such as the software engineering process groups (SWE.1-SWE.6) and other subsystems teams.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESBuild and lead a team to collect stakeholder requirements and discussions with the chief engineer, design/development activities, and customers as requiredLead a team to create overall system level requirements that include functional and non-functional requirements, allocate requirements to components, and create integration and verification criteria as neededLead activities related to overall system architectural design, defined interfaces between components of the system, define static and dynamic behavior of over systemLead activities related to project feasibility, ED&T and deliverablesSupport in creating and maintaining processes related to system engineering as pertains to ASPICE, ISO26262, cyber security and industry best practicesLead or support system FMEA, FTA, and similar activitiesLead or support RFI/RFQ process by defining best overall system architecture to meet internal and external KPIs such as time, cost, performancePerform system level calculations to budget for system performance, response time, etc.Help with defining system level verification and validation
RequirementsMinimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Master's Degree preferredMinimum 7 years of experience with EV propulsion and related powertrain and vehicle technologiesExperience in the automotive industry with focus on systems engineering and requirements managementExperience with Functional Safety (ISO26262, IEC 61508, EN13849) and ASPICEExperience with automotive product life cycle (APQP)Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build relationships with all functions and levels across the organizationMulticore software development or system design experience in automotive (preferred)AGILE/SAFe development experience (preferred)Prior experience managing a technical team (preferred)
