Job Overview:
L3Harris is seeking a new graduate engineer to support our Data Comm program. Data Comm is a transformational program within the the Federal Aviation Administration’s NextGen Initiative which revolutionizes communication between air traffic controllers and pilots by moving from voice to text. Data Comm gives air traffic controllers and pilots the ability to transmit flight plans, clearances, instructions, advisories, flight crew requests, reports and other essential messages with the touch of a button.
The primary resonsibility of this engineer is to analyze operational problem reports (OPRs), identify trends, and deliver presentations to internal and external customers.
Job Description:
Review aircraft operational problem reports and provide root cause analysis
Perform operational analysis and develop concept of operations, design and implementation plans
Use software tools and scripting to support issue idendification and trend analysis
Develop trend/pattern analysis skillset to be able to brief issues to senior engineers
Develop and deliver presentations to communicate design activity plans and status to internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Aviation, Aerospace Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related field
GPA of 3.0 or greater
Ability to obtain and hold a FAA Public Trust Clearance
Preferred Skills:
Familiar with R-studio and suite of Microsoft products
Strong communication skills written and verbal
Self started and ability to work as part of a team with other program members
