  Job Posting Summary

  Reporting to the Assistant Registrar for Systems and Automaton, the Systems & Automation Specialist supports the multiple functions of the Registrar’s Office by managing the development and maintenance of the Banner catalog, the Schedule of Classes, term structure, records retention, and the online registration processes. In addition, this position supports the Assistant University Registrar for Compliance and Communication managing departmental technology.

  Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  Works collaboratively with the campus to resolve issues in the student information system and/or the student portal and to troubleshoot issues, serves as a lead role for the Registrar's Office on data cleanup efforts

  Prepares and delivers end-user training and support to users of applications specific to the functions of the registrar’s office.

  Assist with Certifications

  Assist with athletic eligibility requirements

  Assist with updating room scheduling and usage of software programs

  Assist the Registrar office with website updates

  Assist with commencement process.

  Responsible for creating and disseminating internal data reports related to students’ programs and registration information at regular intervals and upon request.

  Respond to inquiries from student, faculty, and staff

  Update student information in Banner

  Facilitate and support student course registration process

  Provide support for all academic processing that will include, but may not be limited to, attendance, grading, student grade changes, course scheduling building, etc.

  Provides customer service to students, faculty, staff, and fellow administrators, in person, over email, and on the phone with questions about registration/records, courses, curriculum requirements, etc.

  Observance of FERPA guidelines in the handling of student information

  Adherence to Mercy University administrative and business policies

  Responsible for other projects, as may be assigned by the Associate Registrar or the Registrar

  Qualifications

  Required Skills & Experience:

  Prior experience in enrollment management or registrar services

  Strong understanding of academic policies, regulations and FERPA rules

  Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook

  Excellent written and oral communication

  Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and stakeholders

  Education Requirements:

  Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred

  Physical/Other Requirements:

  Must be able to push, pull, move, or lift up to 50 lbs.

  Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per college policies

  Must be able to work beyond normal working hours as needed. May require irregular work hours, such as evenings and/or weekends

  Must be able to maintain an on-campus presence at Dobbs Ferry

  Occasional travel to other campuses may be required (Bronx and Manhattan)

  Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.

Applicants outside of those states or the USA will be required to relocate. Relocation assistance may be provided for eligible moves.

  The Mercy University Retirement Plan is comprised of two components:

  Deferred Compensation Plan

  All eligible employees may contribute to the Deferred Compensation Plan on a pre-tax basis upon joining the University.

  Defined Contribution Plan

  Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period. If an employee is age 36 or older, they will receive a contribution of 9% of their annual salary each pay period.

  If employed full-time for two (2) or more consecutive years by another institution(s) of higher education (college or university), without an intervening break in service within the last twelve (12) months prior to employment before joining Mercy, please submit a waiting period waiver form to Office of Human Resources. The Defined Contribution will begin as of the first day of the month following receipt of the completed waiver form.
