Position:Systems Administrator III
Job Description:
LOCATION
Onsite work from our Atlanta, GA or Overland Park, KS office is required with flexibility to work remote up to 2 days per week.
NOTE: Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.S. citizen, U.S. national or protected individual (as defined under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) status.
SUMMARY
Responsible for deploying the release of new technologies as well as the design, installation, configuration, maintenance and system integration testing performance of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs, maintains and upgrades internal computer hardware and software systems used for designing and developing company products.
Controls user access and passwords.
Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
Monitors usage and performance.
Trains personnel on system usage.
Troubleshoots server, software and hardware issues.
Assists with recommending, scheduling and implementing system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs.
Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products.
Supports Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment.
Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth.
Performs other duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Required to participate in on call rotation after training
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
Requires six (6) or more years of demonstrated experience.
Strong experience in Windows Server operating system.
Knowledge of Active Directory.
Experience logging, auditing, and other security related duties in Windows platforms (Win2K16/19/22).
Extensive experience in Linux operating system.
Knowledge of business continuity and Disaster Recovery - experience in managing multi-site environments.
Skill in software installation and maintenance.
Thorough knowledge of security methods and procedures.
Thorough knowledge and expertise in performance tuning.
Extensive knowledge of emerging technologies.
Knowledge of technical writing principles and practices.
Knowledge of storage management.
Skill in isolating and resolving complex problems and utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools.
Skill in clustering and load balancing technologies.
Skill in the identification of performance problems and implementation of solutions to correct.
Skill in troubleshooting issues with 3rd party software.
Ability to estimate, plan, manage, and communicate activities/deliverables of a mid-size project plan.
Ability to analyze information and formulate conclusions and recommendations.
Ability to plan and execute a platform change with minimal disruption in service to clients.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of AWS.
Knowledge of Unix based systems (Redhat v7 and above).
Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public.
