Our Surgical schedulers are the heart of our practice – they are the first and last impressions to be made on our patients. Our scheduling team plays an essential role in helping the operations of the office run smoothly, deliver best-in-class patient care, and ensures accurate and complete surgical scheduling for our practice doctors. The best fit for this position is someone who is personable, very organized, works efficiently and communicates effectively with our team.
Essential Job functions:
• Obtain prior authorizations and insurance coverage for surgical procedures.
• Perform insurance verifications for surgeries.
• Communicate with outside billing service to accurately track and document patient insurance payments.
• Collect and verify all preoperative testing, medical clearances, consents, and other pertinent documentation has been received prior to the patient’s surgery.
• Review and updates patient medication list and accurately document known allergies in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Demonstrate an understanding of prescription control and prescription refill procedures.
• Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere that enhances the quality of service and care offered to our patients.
• Have a thorough working knowledge of all medical protocols, standard operating procedures and policies.
• Support in pre and post care, assist with patient intake and treatment prep when needed.
• Answer incoming calls and back-up front office when needed.
• Assist in all areas of the business operations as requested by management.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements: Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a Surgical Scheduler and Patient Care.
• 1-2 years’ experience in medical billing and collections highly preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD 10 codes.
• High school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• EPIC or similar patient management software experience preferred.
Details:
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm
• Pay: $21 - $25/hr. based on related surgical scheduling experience
• Pay Cycle – Weekly | Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits offered.
• This role is an in-office position and requires employees to work onsite 5 days a week.
• This position requires all employees to be vaccinated for CV-19 to qualify for this position.
