   Description Stony Brook University's Department of Pathology is seeking a Surgical Pathologist to serve in the Anatomic Pathology Division with responsibilities and duties in surgical pathology and medical education. The incumbent will serve as the Director of Surgical Pathology reporting to the Vice Chair of Anatomic Pathology. Opportunities are available for leadership roles, including Vice Chair of Quality based on candidate qualifications.

  Academic rank at Stony Brook University Renaissance School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience and academic record.

   Qualifications Required Qualifications:

  MD, DO (or foreign equivalent) in Anatomic Pathology. American Board of Pathology board eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology. Eligibility for New York State licensure. Strong diagnostic skills and the potential to serve as an outstanding educator of medical students, pathology residents, and clinical fellows. Demonstration of scholarly contributions in clinical/translational research and experience in medical education. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Fellowship training in Surgical Pathology or sub-specialty area, including, but not limited to, gynecologic, breast, genitourinary, head & neck, pediatric, perinatal pathology and cytopathology. In lieu of fellowship training, demonstration of expertise in sub-specialty will be considered.

  Non-Tenure Track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. To qualify for a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
