Summary This position is in the Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It is being recruited under 10 U.S.C. 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system. Positions in the Cyber Excepted Service are positions necessary to carry out and support the mission of the United States Cyber Command. It is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-RE1 Responsibilities Oversees the development and deployment of Enterprise-wide IA Solutions for the agency and throughout DOD. Develops and maintains the DISA security Technical Implementation Guides along with associated tools, scripts, checklists and analysis techniques. Coordinates and manages initiatives transitioning DOD/DISA to a more secure operational posture supporting DOD objectives to attain information dominance through adequate Information Assurance. Develops new cyber workforce training programs and conducts that training on behalf of the agency as requested by mission partners. Performs connection approval reviews. Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience investigating and analyzing information technology cyber-security issues, programs and systems to isolate, define, and plan solutions to critical problems that impact the ability to support overall mission accomplishment in day-to-day, crises, exercises, and wartime scenarios. Salary range includes a Targeted Local Market Supplement (TLMS) in accordance with Section 1599f of Title 10 U.S.C. and Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 1400.25, Volume 3006. A three year probationary period may be required. This position is subject to completion of 1 year probationary period for assignment to a supervisory position. In accordance with DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selectee must meet Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, selected must meet Information Assurance Certification standards. Selectee must have an approved waiver prior to placement in this position or achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of IA duties. Level 1 certification is required prior to be authorizing unsupervised privileged access.
