Job Overview
TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

ACTIVITIES:
• Ability to understand root cause of quality issue and facilitate communication with Regional Management, supplier, and BU's for resolutions.
• Understanding of Supplier Approval Process and relationships of related functions to ensure compliance.
• Understanding of strategies, risk and opportunities within assigned commodities as developed by the Regional Commodity Managers.
• Facilitate development of Procurement strategy and identify risk and opportunities within scope; Manage implementation of strategies within scope.
• Support Multiple BU's and Natural Owners.
• Ability to perform cost/price analysis with total cost of ownership as objective.
• Ability to identify, negotiate and implement cost avoidance/reduction opportunities through total cost analysis as applicable.
• Responsible for meeting targets for assigned areas. Lead and facilitate internal teams and supplier meetings.
• Lead projects within scope, may be cross-functional, within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Knowledge and understanding of timely execution of escalations.
• Understanding of JIT, consignment and VMI. Ability to resolve invoice blocks on orders in their responsibility.
• Ability to ensure requirements are met by supplier through order placement, submission, and walk-through.
• Ability to lead direct reports including goal setting, people development, performance management and the use of the career management tool.
• Prior leadership and/or facilitation of internal teams and supplier meetings a plus
• Experience in Project management driving results on time is a plus
• Coaching and Mentoring skills to continue developing the internal team.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineer or commercial degree required; Master's Degree is a plus.
• Bilingual, or at least 85% of English, both verbal and written
• 5 - 7 years of purchasing, supply chain, engineering, or technical management experience.
• Project management knowledge and background in handling multiple projects at same time.
• Advanced knowledge in the use of MS Office apps, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, and Power Point. Experience with MS Project as well as SharePoint is a plus.
• SAP knowledge a plus
• Able to work under stress, organized, results oriented and excellent communication abilities.
