  The Supplier Quality Specialist provides technical support to the Supplier Quality Engineering function. This position will support part qualifications and approvals to ensure that the quality of purchased items and supporting documentation confirms to outside agency requirements. Assist the Supplier Quality Engineers by providing production expertise to resolve quality issues!

  Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  Conduct Fortive Part Qualification Process (FPQP) activities within commodity to ensure all product quality requirements for purchased materials are understood, communicated, and met in an effective and economical manner.

  Conduct initial investigation for reported failures within Manufacturing and manage segregation of non-conforming material.

  Conduct ongoing process and part qualification audits of existing suppliers within commodity.

  Analyze supplier quality trends and use Fortive Business System (FBS) tools to drive quality improvements.

  Ability to influence suppliers effectively and drive continuous improvements.

  Create & maintain FPQP documentation records and supplier submission packages.

  Set up incoming inspections on engineering samples/prototypes/non-conformances.

  Support warranty / factory Return Material Authorization (RMA) program

  Support monthly metrics data and reporting.

  Monitor open Supplier Correct Actions to verify conformance with ISC requirements.

  Audit Certificate of Conformance supplier submissions for revision accuracy and compliance

  Support supplier qualification including onsite commercial & technical assessment activities.

  Qualifications Required:

  Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience

  Experience working within a manufacturing environment.

  Ability to read technical drawings (electrical and mechanical)

  Familiarity with Windchill and Oracle ERP systems

  Experience and knowledge of IPC standards

  Experience and working knowledge of printed circuit board fabrication and assembly processes.

  Ability to analyze problems, determine the root cause, and assist in documenting corrective actions and solutions that prevent recurrence.

  Good communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills

  Proficiency with basic computer software, especially Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint

  Qualifications Strongly Preferred:

  Minimum B.S. in Engineering from an accredited college or university or pursuit of B.S. in Engineering related discipline

  Experience using tools such as Control Plans, FMEA’s, PPAP.

  Experience with Lean Manufacturing and related tools

  Familiarity with intrinsically safe products governed by UL, MSHA, ATEX, and ISO regulations

  Ability to communicate advanced quality concepts both internally and externally

  Knowledge of statistical analysis tools

  Willingness to travel as required to solve supplier quality issues (domestic & internationally)Physical demands:

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is required frequently to use hands and digits to handle or feel work material. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Lifting/carry up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 5 to 10 lbs daily. Must be able to use/wear applicable personal protective equipment which may include but is not limited to safety-toed foot wear (with ankle height support), back support belt, hearing protection, and safety eye-wear with side shields. Frequent assent/decent of stairs/steps, especially at field locations. Maybe exposed to loud noises between 85 – 105 decibels.
