JOB SUMMARY*
The position of Supplier Quality Engineer II is responsible for support and leadership of Quality Engineering activities in of New Product Development, Ongoing Manufacturing – including resolution of non-conformances (root cause & corrective action), CAPA, Quality System and process improvement activities. The Supplier Quality Engineer II is familiar with all aspects of auditing the vendor, process control instruments, measuring equipment and statistical quality tools.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*
Under limited supervision, and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Jabil, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Process and Quality audits with strengths and weak points to Vendor qualification.
Plan validation release activities (component quality planning) with the defined team of Jabil Design Engineers, Jabil Process Engineers and Vendor.
Optimize (for quality and cost) components design with know-how from Vendor and Design Engineer
Prove details of tool design and all processes with Vendor to get convinced of the high-quality standards of all processes.
Perform risk analysis and report to the results.
Install the way of working with PDCA list, data sheets, statistics.
Overview RMI for material certification, specifications, and performance requirements.
Provide leadership, to ensure conformance to ISO, FDA (Food & Drug Administration) & MDD (Medical Devices Directive) based quality systems.
Provide leadership & support to Jabil process excellence initiatives including Six-Sigma, design excellence & lean thinking.
Compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Follow Jabil Records Management Policies for Convenience Information, Records Retention Schedules, Training and Education, Document Hold Notices, Records Cleanout, Inactive Records and Information Management, Vital Records and third-party vendor if applicable.
Other responsibilities may be assigned and not all responsibilities listed may be assigned.
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
Environmental – Participate in EMS management structure toward implementation and maintenance of EMS including continual improvement; pollution prevention; objectives and targets; and regulatory compliance. Participate and support the ISO 14001 Certification and Regulatory Audit process. Implement and follow all applicable EMS procedures. Adhere to the site’s EHS Code of Conduct.

For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

COMPUTER SKILLS
Personal computers Proficiency required.
Skilled in use of PC based systems including, but not limited to: word processing, inventory management, quality system, non-conforming product systems and data base management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree required, bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; and 2 to 4 years of experience in Quality or Manufacturing Engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
