Job Description Summary
As a Supplier Quality and Development Engineer, you will drive continued and proactive quality processes within GEHC businesses. You're responsible for selecting suppliers through qualification processes, you will own supplier results, and drive supplier improvements utilizing CAPA processes, supplier scorecards and technical capabilities. You will own Supplier Process Assessments and Supplier Audits. Based on results, they will use technical capabilities/experience to drive product and process improvement plans where needed.
You will need knowledge and hands on experience of best practices in Casting, Machining, injection molding, or other manufacturing technologies, you will appreciate how this expertise area integrates with system applications. You will use your strong Mechanical Engineering/ Manufacturing knowledge in terms of commodity related design, design transfer and manufacturing methodologies.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Includes both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development. Includes supplier qualifications, action plans, capability assessments, performance monitoring, and assisting key commodity suppliers towards industrial standards of excellence. They support within their technical area with others in the cross-functional team: Engineering/Manufacturing/Sourcing, etc.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of Casting and Machining and analytical thinking to define improvement strategy.
Acts as a strong technical resource for colleagues with less experience. Will lead supplier projects, taking into account risk management, resource requirements and costs.
Needs to be able to explain information clearly: has communication skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within and without their field of expertise.
Conveys Supplier Performance expectations and has the capability to handle sensitive issues at various levels of the Organization.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering standard work as long as the end results meet applicable standards.
Uses judgment effectively and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of defined set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems.
Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking to define priorities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience with technical depth/knowledge in supplier quality and development, or 3 years of Commercial Sourcing, Supply Chain or Engineering experience.
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years of commercial sourcing or supplier capability experience in all facets of the assigned commodities.
Experience with any of the following Casting, Machining, Injection Molding or other medical manufacturing technologies.
Excellent negotiations skills and analytical skills with the ability to manage and develop supplier relationships.
Demonstrate experience energizing, developing and building rapport at all levels within an organization.
Experience implementing a compliant supply chain.
Demonstrate experience working independently.
Established project management skill.
