Job Summary:
Pratt & Whitney, a recognized leading producer of the world's most advanced commercial and military engines, is seeking talented manufacturing engineers to join the Global Supply Chain Mechanical Engineering (ME) Organization. We are looking for energetic Supplier Product Manufacturing engineers to support the supplier ramp up for Geared Turbofan (GTF) and F135 at the supply base. We are seeking experienced and versatile ME to support manufacturing of Pratt & Whitney parts at designated suppliers. This position is for an experienced engineer to provide guidance and expertise at various suppliers producing the various GSC parts and report directly to a Supplier Manufacturing Engineering-Operations Manager. The person in this role is expected to travel between 20%- 30% both domestically and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting suppliers with manufacturing methods and processes necessary for machining, composite, sheet metal, forming, forging, and processing on complex engine parts. Evaluate tooling, special test and inspections concepts and equipment.
Assessment of Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) in support of manufacturing reviews including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Control Plan activities.
Support Vendor Corrective Action Board (VCAB) related execution actions and milestones through account specialist and suppliers resulting in reduced impact to part deliveries.
Provide manufacturing producibility input to designs and part family process standards. Review process yields and rates and make suggestions for improvement.
Identifying and addressing long term recommendations that will lead to a reduction in throughput times and increase quality. Identify & implement supplier process improvements that increase output and reduce overall costs, including automation and robotics.
Evaluate supplier manufacturing readiness and proactively support and resolve readiness issues. Participate in manufacturing reviews, transitions, new product introduction reviews and manufacturing standard work improvements.
Provide manufacturing process options, propose trade studies, evaluate manufacturing process maturity. Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives that support continuous process improvement.
Provide urgent manufacturing support for critical supplier issues, troubleshooting quality issues and assist suppliers with root cause and corrective actions.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field and 5 years of experience to include manufacturing engineering, methods and process engineering and experience communicating engineering related work to all levels of customer and leadership.
Advanced Degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field and 3 years of experience to include manufacturing engineering, methods and process engineering and experience communicating engineering related work to all levels of customer and leadership.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
Possess a positive attitude with the ability and willingness to think creatively to solve complex issues.
Sheet metal forming, assembly, welding, turning, milling, and drilling experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate with internal and external customers.
Knowledge of manufacturing and inspection methods, process controls, understanding of Lean or Six Sigma tools.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) experience.
Familiarity with data analysis using statistical software, such as Minitab.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
