Job Summary
Acts as nursing supervisor for assisted living under the supervision of the Long Term Care Director of Nursing.
Performs professional nursing functions, utilizing the nursing process to provide total nursing care to residents.
Has a knowledge of and ability to utilize appropriate resident care protocol relating to the physical and psychological needs of geriatric residents.
Coordinates care in an interdisciplinary manner and is responsible for the outcome of nursing care delivered. Demonstrates leadership to other staff members, coaches, assists in supervision and evaluation of nursing staff.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the resident/customer's status.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Promotes and nurtures Nano Nagle Village’s philosophy of resident centered care.
Support the Presentation and Benedictine Sisters’ philosophy, mission, objectives, and values of stewardship, hospitality, and compassion as they relate to the health care ministry.
Education and/or Experience
Graduation from a two-year associate degree program, three-year diploma program or four-year baccalaureate degree program, successful completion of State Board Exams
Previous experience in geriatric or medical or surgical preferred.
Experience in dealing with the public and clients is required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Current license to practice nursing in the State of South Dakota.
Membership in a professional organization preferred.
CPR certification.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Occasional weekend (Call rotation on weekends shared with other Nursing Leaders)
Occasional holiday (Rotate Holiday Call Coverage with other Nursing Leaders)
Occasional (Weekend call coverage rotation with other Nursing Leaders)
