Supervisor, Maintenance Materials

Job Description:
Primary Purpose of the Role:
The Maintenance Materials Supervisor is responsible for managing the flow of indirect materials. This includes the procurement of indirect materials, managing a team of Material Handlers and processing materials utilizing various procurement and inventory tracking systems. Work is generally of a technical nature with the ability to make decisions within the limits of general standards and practices; and involves using initiative in decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages the flow of maintenance materials for the organization.
Manages a team of material services employees, guiding their daily tasks and duties.
Identifies materials as need to support daily maintenance needs.
Collaborates with skill trades and engineering on material needs and directs purchasing activities in support of those initiatives with emphasis on quality, cost control, availability, and delivery.
Ability to manage supplies by monitoring, reporting, and providing recommendations on issues, which could affect quality, delivery, or pricing.
Continually improves the value of supplier relationships.
Ability to coordinate receiving and shipping logistics.
Ensures best practices are utilized across the team and organization.
Ability to learn inventory control software systems.
Maintains and adheres to corporate purchasing and supplier quality policies and procedures.

Required:
Minimal management experience.Preferred:

Scope Factors:
First level supervisor: Responsible for daily supervision of assigned team.
Supervises team of hourly/support employees
Frequently interacts with direct leadership, peers, and direct reports within the same function.
Full-time supervisory of storeroom and crib.
Supervise a group that typically consists of support level or production team with similar or varied skills.
Decisions are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager or senior supervisors.
Work directly impacts the daily operations of their assigned work group and procedures.
