Job Title: Summer Woodward Copper Camp Office Staff
Job Status: Seasonal
Job Summary:The Woodward Copper office staff are responsible for coordinating all thelogistics at summer camp including but not limited to housing, travel, andactivity needs associated with Woodward Copper summer camp.
They will be responsible for all of the housing and travel needs of thecampers as well as coordinating the transportation of campers, from & toairports and medical facilities. They will be responsible for the accuratescheduling and execution of the program. They will also be responsible forworking with medical personnel to maintain individual medical records andother necessary camp medical paperwork as required by law.
While maintaining knowledge of all camp office responsibilities, thisposition is broken down into three areas of focus: housing,transportation, and general knowledge.
The Woodward Copper Camp Office Staff will be responsible for all travel needsrelated to Woodward Copper including, but not limited to, camper, staffand visitor pick-up & drop-off, non-emergency medical transport, andtravel related to activities on-campus. This individual will work closely withthe leadership team to determine and implement transportationpick-up/drop-off points for campers, staff & visitors arriving and/ordeparting Copper Mountain. This also includes coordinating with the businessesinvolved, e.g., DIA, shuttle companies and airport liaison. Thisindividual will also assist with determining appropriate charges for servicesand ensuring payments are made prior to service.
They will be responsible for coordinating with medical personnel regardingnon-emergency medical transport for campers and staff. They will have theresponsibility of maintaining camp medical records as required by law. Thisindividual will work closely with medical personnel to ensure records areappropriately updated. They will communicate with appropriate medicalfacilities, campers' families regarding injury and/or sickness, alongwith necessary staff.
The Woodward Copper Camp Office Staff will be responsible for assigningappropriate living arrangements to Woodward Copper campers, staff andvisitors coordinating all needs; e.g., age, gender, special request,separate floors for staff and campers, etc. They will work with the EDGEHousing staff when determining housing needs for all sessions. They willassign each counselor to an appropriate group of campers along with assigningthe counselors to their own rooms based upon the ratios outlined in WoodwardCopper's Accreditation with the American Camps Association in addition tothe State of Colorado Child Care License. They will coordinate staff on camperarrival and departure days to ensure rooms are accurately booked,utilized, and cleaned. This individual will work with the EDGE and WoodwardCopper staff to maintain camper safety in living quarters and will take allnecessary steps to protect campers on their respective floors.
They will communicate with the Day Coaches and the Overnight Counselorsregarding camper issues to ensure needs are met; e.g., homesickness,peer issues, etc. He/she will communicate with campers' families when asituation requires parental knowledge of an issue, e.g., unresolvedhomesickness, serious camp offense.
Basic Requirements:Must be able to lift 50 pounds.Must have a valid US Driver's license.Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background checkwill be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will bedone in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
