Summer Intern, Mechanical Engineer R&D

　　In addition to a project that will provide maximum experience and exposure in your desired field, the Hologic College Relations team provides opportunities to learn more about the company, network with leadership, and develop the skills needed to succeed in your future career.

　　The mechanical engineering team develops hardware designs for New Product Development (NPD) as well as product improvements supporting the Breast & Skeletal Health Division.

　　Throughout the 10-12 weeks you'll have the opportunity to participate in the following:

　　Assist in prototype creation, build, evaluation, and iteration for various NPD products

　　Complete model and drawing creation & updates from DFM feedback, CTQ attributes, NPD releases.

　　Utilize Agile to create/modify parts and BOMs.

　　We're looking for bright, inquisitive problem solvers who strive to make a difference. Key qualifications include the following:

　　Able to work full-time over the summer months (May-August)

　　Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and have at least one semester remaining to complete after the internship

　　Rising Junior, Rising Senior

　　Majoring in Mechanical Engineering

　　Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.2/4.0

　　Strong written and verbal communication skills

　　Experience or exposure to working with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and SolidWorks

　　Ability to work onsite at our Newark, DE campus. Intern housing, relocation, and housing stipends are not provided

　　The hourly pay range for this role is $22 - $35 per hour. Compensation is determined by class standing and operational function.
