About the RoleThe General Dynamics Land Systems Summer 2024 Internship Program provides an opportunity for students looking to start or continue the transition from academia into industry. Our three-month internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing, and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.As part of your summer experience, you will join our team and use your education, experience, and creativity to make an impact.The candidate will work in a team environment that leads the development of new software products and improves existing applications. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off).On-going learning opportunities within a diverse, inclusive and rewarding work environment.Onsite Cafeteria, remodeled with new equipment Fitness Center, and Outdoor fitness track.Responsibilities to Anticipate for this RoleThe candidate will assist in designing, testing and eventual deployment of logistics products and processes that support current and future General Dynamics Land Systems vehicles and advanced projectsDevelop maintenance engineering source dataDevelop diagnostic / troubleshooting engineering source dataDevelop reliability engineering source dataResearch emerging technologies to improve existing products.Update our products or processes to current standardsProvide troubleshooting and hands-on support with application users in the field.Occasional travel to deploy software or application.Ability to demonstrate applications, troubleshoot, and/or in front of live audience.Data entry and manipulationQualifications SoughtPursuing a bachelor's degree software/computer engineering from an accredited 4-year university or college.Attained at least a sophomore status based on university/college's class standing requirements at the start of the internshipGPA of 3.5 or higher is highly preferredMust be at least 18 years oldMust be a U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)Must successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and must provide an official college or university transcript from their school before their first day of employment.Must be able to complete a minimum of a full-time, three- month assignment
