  Description:

  Reads, understands and complies with all Standards of Conduct, Joint Commission policies, requirements set forth by the United States Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration pursuant to Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act, applicable State regulations and guidelines, and all laws related to position responsibilities and Employment at EBNHC.

  Upholds procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.

  Upholds safety policies, practices, and procedures including safety, fire safety, electrical safety, proper body mechanics and material handling, office/ergonomic safety and other employee safety measures.

  Reads, understands and complies with all standards and guidelines related to the MGB SUD Equity Grant

  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  EDUCATION:

  High School diploma or GED required.

  Associate’s Degree or higher preferred.

  Preference of minimum 2-years experience in SUD treatment.

  EXPERIENCE:

  Knowledge of the standard of practice of SUD treatment and harm reduction

  Ability to use data to evaluate outcomes related to grant

  Working knowledge and experience with the Epic electronic medical record systems, performance dashboards, database products, and analysis tools preferred

  Must have the ability to work independently, possess excellent interpersonal, communication and teaching skills

  The Community Engagement Specialist (CES) in the Recovery Services Department is responsible for increasing the department’s connection within the community and with community partners. This four-year grant position will primarily be working independently in the community and reporting back to the Clinical Director and Program Manager. The CES will Conduct visits in the community to provide information both the Recovery Services program as well as overall substance use disorder (SUD) education and awareness. The CES role will allow us to expand substance use knowledge to advance equitable SUD services for the Black, Latine, and Native and tribal identifying people that promotes diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion.

  Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  Conduct visits in the community to provide information on CHC substance use services and the importance of SUD education and awareness.

  Facilitate and/or deliver communications, presentations about CHC substance use services at community spaces including open to community meetings, tabling, public forums etc.

  Provide ongoing support and follow up to community businesses and spaces already or newly connected with for future collaboration events and other SUD awareness and education opportunities.

  Establish and maintain a SUD leadership team with community members that are interested in addressing SUD in their communities. Meet with them on a frequent basis dependent on the group.

  Maintaining compliance with BSAS regulations.

  Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance.

  Other Duties & Responsibilities:

  Strong advocacy skills along with knowledge of community-based services, resources, and local recovery community.

  Empathic understanding of patients, including the ability to assess multicultural needs, sensitivity to ethnic, cultural, gender, and sexual orientation diversity, values, beliefs, and behaviors.

  Demonstrated flexibility with client’s priorities, evolving needs, and goals.

  Organizational skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, e-mail, and the internet; requires the ability to research community resources independently and to access and enter data.

  Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.

  Willingness and ability to travel within the community.
