  Schedule: PRN - Nights - 7pm to 7:30am

  Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent

  Location: Indianapolis, IN

  We are a step down unit from ICU...Once stable in ICU the patients will come to our unit to finish their rehab or stay.

  We see patients with musculoskeletal issues like broken or fractured bones, arthritis, osteoporosis, joint replacements, and other injuries and diseases. You will work as an integral part of the orthopedic team working alongside the orthopedic surgeon; and ensuring that patients on the road to recovery are properly regaining strength and range of motion. We get patients from ER, ICU transfers, elective ortho surgeries from PACU, and direct admits.

  Responsibilities

  Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

  Responsibilities:

  Complete assigned nursing orders as directed by preceptor, including assisting patient with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.

  Observe patient status and responses. Document and report observations to preceptor or other appropriate staff.

  Assist preceptor with development of care plan by reporting test results and patient observations.

  Perform other tasks as assigned, including environmental services and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.

  Requirements

  Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.Education:

  High school diploma/GED required. Enrolled in Nursing program.Additional Preferences

  Enrolled in a Nursing program. Previous bedside experience
