Responsibilities
Strong Recovery promotes recovery from addiction and co-occurring disorders (such as mental illness) through an integrated care model. Our services are staffed by a multidisciplinary team providing addiction, detox and stabilization services to patients across our region. The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant is an essential member of the team providing direct clinical care to persons with substance use disorders through comprehensive physical assessment for new methadone maintenance patients, yearly medical reviews for patients enrolled in the methadone program, monitoring of EKG/QTc concerns as well as Hepatitis C screening and treatment, medication assisted treatment using all FDA approved medications to treat addiction as well as management of medical comorbidity during the course of treatment. The FNP or PA is also the Health Coordinator for Strong Recovery clinics providing patient education on communicable diseases with emphasis on Hep C, HIV and sexually transmitted infections. Requires a master’s degree in nursing- Family Nurse Practitioner and ANCC board certification or Board Certification as Physician’s Assistant. Interest and experience in working with persons with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong communication skills. Strong Team player: ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner
Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.
Physician Assistant
Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $44.71 - $67.07
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
