　　PeaceHealth is seeking a Sterile Processing Assistant - Central Services for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Evening position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $17.00 – $26.44. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

　　This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

　　Job Summary

　　Continuously exemplifies the mission, values and customer service philosophy of PeaceHealth in job performance and in relationships to others. This position is responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of instruments and supplies.

　　Essential Functions

　　Cleans, decontaminates instrumentation and supplies.

　　Collects, disassembles, cleans and disinfects instrumentation used in procedures.

　　Reassembles instruments and packages appropriately.

　　Operates a variety of disinfecting equipment.

　　Monitors and documents sterilization parameters.

　　Cleans and maintains department equipment.

　　Understands and applies the principles of asepsis in sterile processing work.

　　Restocks work areas and delivers instrumentation to appropriate departments.

　　Provides excellent customer service and participates in the performance improvement activities.

　　Participates in staff education and department meetings.

　　Performs other duties as assigned.

　　Qualifications

　　Education

　　High School Diploma Preferred: or equivalentExperience

　　Preferred: Previous hospital or patient care experience.

　　Preferred: Medical terminology

　　Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.

　　Frequent bending/ kneeling/ squatting/ stooping/ reaching/ grasping.

　　Occasional push/pull up to 50 lbs. force.
