Title: STEM Specialist

　　Reports to:  STEM Director

　　Salary Range: $17-$19 - DOE

　　Hours:  Monday - Friday 12:30-6:30 PM (Part-time up to 29 hrs)

　　JOB SUMMARY:

　　STEM Specialist YDPs plan and facilitate specialized high-quality STEM (science, tech, engineering, math) programming for youth. Specialists ensure that every Club Member has an Optimal Club Experience that sets them up for lifelong success.

　　Successful STEM Specialists have a passion for serving others and contributing to the well-being of the community at large. Specialists have the ability to connect with young people and offer supportive relationships. They are team players willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that Club Members are safe, recognized, and given the opportunity to learn new skills.

　　Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):

　　Plan and implement high-quality activities (usually 45-min to one hour) that strengthen youth curiosity, excitement, and confidence in STEM subjects with youth ages 5-7, or 12-17.Ensure engagement, stimulate participation and promote consistent attendance of youth enrolled in activitiesEstablish rapport with youth and provide mentoring, guidance, role modeling to members and overall direction for their leadership development, artistic skills, physical activity engagement, and academic progressProvide active supervision continually interacting with all members and providing motivation and encouragementSubmit regular lesson plans, attendance sheets and other paperwork responsibilitiesPlan special events, such as guest speakers, performances, or field tripsAbide by and carry out safety policies and proceduresAttend local trainingsNeeded Knowledge:

　　Ability to work in high-energy, loud, and active settings with large groups of youth and teensAbility to prioritize tasks and accomplish them in a detailed, timely mannerExcellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with Club members, peers, parents, community leaders, etc.Self-motivated, and comfortable with both independent and collaborative processesWilling to share an area of interest, skill, or talent with youthMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalentStrong group management skillsRequirements:
