Job Description Summary
As a member of the Steam Power Field Services Team, you will be an active contributor to the diverse and dynamic administrative and program support needs of the team. This role will require you to support our fast-paced day to day activities with strong organizational and administrative skills. This role will require you to travels to customer sites and supports customers with installation, maintenance, and warranty work with industrial power generation equipment. This position also requires technical competences in reading and interpreting mechanical flow and instrument diagrams, dial and laser alignment and thermal growth equipment. Implements and executes the work under safety and environmental policies, serving as an example for others and provide full and active commitment in the deployment of the EHS Policies and any additional project-specific written statement or procedure.
This position is available remotely in Ontario Canada, and is required to travel 80% annually domestically and internationally.
Job Description
Your Role:
Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installationRespond to requests for emergency repairs and services to troublesome equipmentProvide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer's sitesPerform administrative functions such as: writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, reports to customers, time sheet and expense sheets on a complete timely, and thorough basis Signs off on all changes implemented.Drive customer satisfaction through commitment to quality.Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standardsKnowledge to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkout for wide range of equipment vintagePrepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and a reference for future outagesEnsure all parts needed for the job are shipped to the sitePerform walk-downs during installation to ensure that the customer's contractors are working properly.Perform aftermarket upgrades that need to be performed at the site level.Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 5+ years of experience in Power Plant Maintenance, turbine maintenance, or power plant equipment installation or commissioning, or relevant experience; or High School Diploma with 9+ years of relevant experienceAbility to travel 80% annually to and from projects and various field assignments as required.Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.Ability to gain unescorted access to nuclear power facilities in Canada and U.S.A.Successful completion of required training programs is a minimum requirement.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience to actively support an outage and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise.Ability and commitment to excellent customer service both with external and internal stakeholdersDemonstrated experienced with successful installations and outages.Experience and training on GE, Alstom, Siemens or other OEM equipment is preferredExtensive Field Engineering Services experience is requiredPipe fitting and tubing experience.Previous experience working on GE steam or gas equipment.Fluent in English language.Very Good organizational skillsVery Good project management skillsVery Good oral and written communication skillsVery Good interpersonal and leadership skillsVery Good business acumen and ability to sell GE products to the customerAbility to travel to support customers inside and outside Canada
Employment is contingent upon acceptable results of your pre-employment background and drug screening (to be taken within 48 hours of your receipt of the test paperwork). You may receive specialized classroom and laboratory training to prepare you for your assignment. You will be expected to complete periodic training to meet competency requirements for the position. All training courses attended must be successfully completed as a minimum requirement for employment.
