  Join the State Attorney's Office, First Judicial Circuit and be part of a dynamic team. We have four counties in the First Judicial Circuit – Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, and Walton. We are looking to hire a Clerical Specialist I in our Ft. Walton Beach office located in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida (Okaloosa County). This is a f ull-time position – Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

  This position will be responsible for serving as the office receptionist/switchboard operator. As a Receptionist, you will be the ambassador of our organization’s first impression on guests and visitors. Duties include serving visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately. Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or division. Communicate and provide information to the public, law enforcement and other agencies. Look up case information in electronic database in order to direct calls to the appropriate party. Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, and issuing visitor badges . Notify office personnel of visitor arrival and overnight mail deliveries.

  To successfully perform the duties of this position, candidates must have a professional demeanor, excellent communication skills, office experience, keyboarding skills and work well in a team environment. Candidates must be highly motivated, extremely organized, and be able to handle confidential matters with the utmost discretion. We are looking for self-starters who accept challenges, work well under pressure, and require minimal supervision after training.

  Minimum Training and Experience Required: A high school diploma or equivalency and two years of secretarial or clerical experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
