Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Staff Nurse II, Team Leader or Manager of Patient Care Services, the Staff Nurse I provides direct care to patients of the Medical/Surgical Department using the nursing process of assessment: planning, implementation and evaluation, so that the physical, psychosocial, safety, rehabilitative and learning needs of patients and their families are addressed. This function is performed in association with nursing peers and co-workers, attending physicians and allied support services. This position is responsible for managing care of assigned patients and directing the activities of the ancillary staff.

EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
RN-Registered Nurse of California
BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 Days of hire
NIHSS within 90 Days of hire
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:
This position represents the nurse with less than one year's experience or less than 1,248 hours in an acute health care setting.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Knowledgeable and able to use the nursing process to the benefit of patients.
Must have communication, leadership and guest-relations skills.
Demonstrated proficiency to operate all department equipment.

Pay Range is $69.43 to $69.43 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
