　　Job Summary and Qualifications

　　Staff Assistant

　　The staff assistant is responsible for the accurate scheduling of procedures and cases within surgical services. Serves as liaison between surgeons, office staff, operating room and ancillary departments and assures effective timely communication.

　　What you will do in this role:

　　You will have initial contact with patients entering the department

　　You will conduct front office activities such as greeting patients, answering phones in a timely manner and direct patients to correct person

　　You will provide excellent customer service

　　You will copy insurance information and ID if needed

　　You will answer public inquires appropriately

　　You will acquire physician order from office or OnBase

　　You will demonstrate age appropriate communication

　　You will monitor patient’s wait time

　　What qualifications you will need

　　1 year hospital experience preferred

　　Good communication skills

　　Strong customer service skills with emphasis on promoting customer service initiative

　　Organizational skills

　　Multi-task oriented

　　Good computer skills

　　Accurate typing ability

　　Current and Valid TN driver’s license with a good driving record

　　Ability to carry Mail from the post office to the car

　　Heartsaver CPR certified within 90 days of hire
