Description We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our detail-oriented services team located in Columbia, Maryland. As a Staff Accountant, your role will involve managing a variety of accounting tasks, such as bank and account reconciliations, accounts receivables, billing, invoicing, and accounts payables. You will also be responsible for posting journal entries and using Salesforce Sales Cloud. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
• Carry out account reconciliations to verify account balances
• Manage accounts receivables to maintain revenue flow
• Carry out billing and invoicing tasks to facilitate financial transactions
• Manage accounts payables, including processing invoices and providing vendor support
• Post journal entries to keep financial records up-to-date
• Use Salesforce Sales Cloud for specific accounting procedures
• Use Excel formulas for financial calculations and analysis. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or a similar position within the services industry.
• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations.
• Solid understanding of the General Ledger and experience in maintaining it.
• Ability to prepare and process Journal Entries accurately.
• Experience in managing Month End Close procedures.
• Proficiency in using Excel Formulas for financial calculations and data analysis.
• Experience in using Salesforce Sales Cloud for managing customer relationships and sales data.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
• Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills.
