Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Santa Fe Springs, California. This role is within the manufacturing industry and will involve handling various accounting functions with a focus on inventory management, cost analysis, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Accurate and efficient processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Maintain and update the company's database to ensure the integrity of all contacts and information.

• Conduct credit checks on customers, manage open accounts, and follow up with vendors to ensure timely payments and collections.

• Utilize QuickBooks desktop version for recording and tracking inventory movements, inputting production costs, labor expenses, and material costs.

• Generate and analyze cost estimates for various projects and products, ensuring accurate and timely billing to customers.

• Process journal entries to accurately reflect financial transactions and conduct cost variance analysis to identify areas for improvement.

• Manage expense reports and reimbursements, perform weekly check runs, and manage online deposits.

• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements regularly.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and provide financial insights to support decision-making processes.

• Utilize Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and other functions, to enhance financial analysis and reporting capabilities. Requirements • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles

• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software

• Proficiency in English and in MS Office

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

• Prior experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role is a plus

• Knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Experience with accounting software, like QuickBooks

• Strong analytical skills with an ability to spot numerical errors

• Good organizational and time-management abilities

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients

• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
