Description We are offering a role located in Billerica, Massachusetts, United States, for a Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is within the telecom industry and is a contract employment opportunity. The job function will involve handling various accounting tasks, such as processing and paying invoices, handling vendor correspondence, and assisting with audits.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor incoming invoices, ensuring they are processed and paid promptly
• Establish and maintain effective communication with vendors via phone and email
• Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies in collaboration with the purchasing group
• Conduct detailed vendor account research and reconciliation
• Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying, tracking, and resolving recurring problems and issues
• Propose process improvements for payment activity, leveraging system capabilities for increased efficiency
• Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with established internal controls
• Step in as backup when required, to ensure seamless operations within the department
• Utilize a range of skills including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Requirements • Proven experience in the role of Staff Accountant or similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software, specifically NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.
• Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger.
• Ability to prepare Journal Entries accurately.
• Experience in Month End Close procedures.
• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.
• Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
