Description An up-and-coming firm in the Hotels industry has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their team. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. Your duties will also include participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors throughout quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Little Rock, Arkansas area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.

　　Your responsibilities in this role

　　Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

　　Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

　　Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules

　　Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management

　　Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

　　Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

　　Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

　　Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

　　Take part in various department-wide initiatives

　　Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed Requirements - Efficient in ERP systems

　　Recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

　　Month end closings experience

　　Expertise in journal entries

　　Monthly Financial Statements experience

　　Background working with Pivot Table

　　Year-end Financial Statements experience

　　Earlier work involving Quickbooks Online

　　Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel

　　Comprehensive knowledge of general ledger

　　General familiarity with Credit Card Reconciliation

　　Demonstrated knowledge of Bank Account Reconciliation

　　VLOOKUP experience highly preferred

　　Adeptness in account reconciliation

　　Great attention to detail

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

　　Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

　　Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

　　Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

　　The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

　　Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
