　　Robert Half is seeking an ambitious, experienced Staff Accountant for a permanent position within a prestigious Construction company. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will assist in developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Chattanooga, Tennessee area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

　　Major responsibilities

　　Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

　　Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management

　　Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

　　Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

　　Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

　　Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

　　Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

　　Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

　　Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

　　Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

　　Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

　　Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

　　Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

　　Requirements

　　BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

　　Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

　　Experience with account reconciliation

　　Accruals experience

　　Comprehensive knowledge of Sage 50

　　Strong familiarity with Adjusting Journal Entries

　　Well-founded grasp of month end closings

　　Proven knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation

　　Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

　　3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

　　Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

　　Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

　　Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

　　Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions

　　Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

　　Spreadsheet and database capabilities

　　Be detailed, flexible, and organized

　　Experience with ERP systems
