You will succeed in this position if you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. To succeed in this role, you will need to be comfortable participating in compliance, interacting with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. Do you have a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets? You'll be preferred for this role.
Your responsibilities in this role
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Take part in various department-wide initiatives Requirements - Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Proficient in ERP systems
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Background working with Microsoft Excel
Account reconciliation experience desired
Earlier work involving Pivot Table
Adeptness in Balance Sheet Reviews
Demonstrated knowledge of month end closings
Excel Formulas experience highly preferred
Knowledge of Bank Account Reconciliation
Good understanding of VLOOKUP
Practical knowledge of AccountMate
Foundational knowledge in bank reconciliations
General familiarity with Year-end Close
Inventory Reports experience highly desired
Deep understanding of account reconciliation
Excellent attention to detail
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
