Description Robert Half currently has a long-term contract / temporary position open for an experienced, organized Staff Accountant at a dynamic, growing organization in the Retail - Clothes & Access industry. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Based in the Boston, Massachusetts region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.
Your responsibilities in this role
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed Requirements - Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Detailed and have the ability work independently
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
ERP system experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to meet deadlines
PeopleSoft experience desired
Command of Microsoft Power BI
Code Invoices experience preferred
Journal entries experience
Deep understanding of Balance Sheet Reconciliation
