  Job Title: Sr Principal Software Engineer

  Location: Boston, MA

  Job Responsibilities

  Drive design decisions for the product and platform focusing on the advanced manufacturing technologies and solution automation to deliver best-in-class tools and flows for design automation

  Provide technical leadership on project areas, including cross-functional flows

  Collaborate on key architecture and design decisions

  Lead planning, design, development, test and maintain key software enhancements, take responsibility for quality and customer delight in the capabilities delivered by the team

  Coordinate with other Cadence teams and customers to keep development and product plans on track - good communication skills to work with remote teams and present to customers are a must

  Experience and Technical Skills required

  7+ years of software development experience in the area of design automation

  Familiarity with advanced packaging technologies, place and route flows is a plus

  Proven track record in complex software development is required, with a history of working with complex legacy code

  Experience in collaborating with customers on developing and deploying new technologies is a plus

  Qualifications

  Minimum Education and Experience:

  BS in CS or EE + 5 years of related experience, or

  MS in CS or EE + 3 years of related experience, or

  PhD in CS or EE

  Additional qualifications

  Practical experience developing production-quality applications in C/C++, Java, Python

  Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google cloud) is a plus

  Experience with modern software development practices and tools

  Behavioral skills required

  Must possess strong written, verbal and presentation skills

  Ability to establish a close working relationship with both customer peers and management
