The Porter, Nutrition, and Dietetics Team Lead, works under the general directive supervision in accordance with established practices, procedures and administrative policies. You will store, receive, inventory and distribute food and Food Service supplies. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Maintaining sanitation.
Performing Porter duties as required.
Providing initiative and leadership in Porter jobs.
Providing input to management on work efficiency, techniques and duties.

Responsibilities:
Performs stocking and receiving duties, dates, makes and stores products; follow proper storage techniques, checks specifications on quality, quantity and price. Is accountable for received product to invoice accuracy. Notifies Production Manager of discrepancies, condition or needs on supplies, orders, invoice, equipment or storage. Assists staff in obtaining needed items from storage areas. Completes meat pulls. May assist in inventory and ordering. Maintains security of inventory and received products.
Reports and equipment, personnel, safety, supply, possible theft, assignment, recipe, or quantity/quality discrepancy to immediate supervisor. Reviews and recommends changes in departmental methods. Ensures proper storage techniques/principles are followed by staff and others. Corrects and reports and discrepancies.
Follows proper sanitation procedures. Maintains clean, sanitized and organized work area. Practices clean-as-you-go policy. Breaks down empty boxes. Cleans work, storage and receiving areas as needed and scheduled to include walls, shelves, and floors of refrigerators, dry storage and freezers. Keeps hand sinks cleaned/stocked; sweeps and mops
floors, removes trash, keeps delivery area and hallway organized and free of safety hazards. Keeps floors dry.
Performs Porter duties. Requests, receives, checks and stores supplies; dispenses unit orders to the Main kitchen; keeps proper personnel up-to-date about the condition of supplies; obtains and returns skids as requested.
Reports to Production Manager the sanitary condition, cooperative service and attitude and timeliness of all vendors. Operates pallet carrier lift.
Follows safety rules, regulations, procedures; utilizes provided safety equipment. Follows directions/procedures on use of chemicals. Reports any accident immediately to the supervisor.
Performs other similar or less skilled duties.

Education:
High school graduate or the equivalent.Certifications:

Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions.
Good judgment and initiative in decisions regarding invoices, inventory, requisitions, supplies, equipment, quality, organizing one's daily tasks, cost controls, storage, sanitation and safety.
Ability to communicate with fellow workers and supervisor.
Ability to work by self in crowded storerooms.
Ability to properly operate a pallet lift and box cutter.
Willingness to perform repetitious tasks on a continuous basis.
Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with other employees of the department and other departments.

Practices confidentiality in patient matters.
Work Experience:
One year experience as a Porter preferred.
Understanding of orders/invoices; knowledge of simple mathematics to ensure extensions of invoices and supply levels are correct.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work rapidly to meet time deadlines; performs work requiring continuous standing and lifting of materials (5- - pounds) with high requirements for good eyesight and good arm and hand dexterity.
Good eye/hand coordination essential.
Ability to work in hot kitchen around hot equipment.
Ability to withstand changes in work environment temperatures (hot kitchen to refrigerator) and work for extended periods in refrigerator/freezers wearing appropriate gear.
An insensitivity to allergic reactions to required sanitation chemicals, gloves, food and supplies used and essential to the job.
