A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day): As the Sr. Network Engineer, you will: • Review network alerts and determine if they are false positives or items that need additional follow-up • Manage and execute tickets assigned to the network team through Service Now • Collaborate with various teams to resolve day to day network issues and concerns • Coordinate with project managers and business units to facilitate projects and determine project requirements. • Create and update network documentation, job aids, and diagrams. You will excel in this role if you: • Design solutions, configure, deploy, test and support numerous types of network infrastructure. • Coordinate with system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations with minimum down time. • Facilitate implementation of high-speed, scalable, fault-tolerant network topologies as applicable to WAN/LAN design. • Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools. • Manage assigned tasks and provides guidance to junior Network Engineers. • Design, tests and deploy RF communications solutions. • Lead large efforts of dynamic requirements and scale. • Work with System Engineers and cross-organizational teams to define requirements. • Resolve complex network problems, operate network analyzers, WAN test equipment and network simulators. • Contribute to security planning, risk analysis, and risk management. • Recommend corporate solutions to resolve network security requirements. • Diagram with tools such as Visio for demonstrating engineering designs and creating/maintaining network documentation. • Conduct direct penetration testing and security audits documenting results. • Work in a self-directed, fast-paced environment, that is highly collaborative and multi-functional. • Work with Cisco UCS/ACI infrastructure. What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have): • 7-10 years' experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required. • Four (4) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. • Technologies/Capabilities we are looking for: • Firewalls • Dynamic multipoint virtual private network (DMVPN) • Proxy/Load Balancers (F5) • Routing/WAN o Virtual Private Networks (VPN) • HP Network Node Manager (HPNNM) • HP Network Automation (HPNA) • Cisco Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting. (AAA) and Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE)AAA/ISE • Cisco hardware including routers, switches and wireless technology.
