Job Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Sr Manager, Systems Engineering - Command & Control (C2) Component Lead to join and expand our Engineering team as the Command & Control (C2) Component Lead for one of our premier Mission Management / Command & Control Programs. In this role, you will be responsible for the component’s cost, schedule, and technical performance baseline and will also be responsible for ensuring the component products come together technically for each delivery. You will work directly with Program leadership, the Systems and Software Team, other Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL’s), and external stakeholders.
This position is an onsite role at our Aurora, CO (Denver area) campus.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
The Sr Manager, Systems Engineering - Command & Control (C2) Component Lead will be responsible for the definition, documentation and execution of component level systems engineering, agile and DevOps processes
You will be responsible for the component’s baseline, requirements, architecture and design, and integration and test activities
You will leverage modern Agile / DevOps development practices utilizing an agile framework
You will be responsible for reporting status and estimates to your Agile team leadership (utilizing robust and easy-to-use tools for reporting status)
You will support our small Agile teams in adapting to evolving problem sets, and support Engineers benefiting from a flexible work environment where they can migrate between teams to contribute to new domains.
You will oversee a team of 10-12 direct reports
Travel will be required for this position ( 15%)
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior engineering experience
Active and transferable Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Experience with technical and/or functional leadership of an engineering team on a Defense and/or Intelligence Program
Experience with cost, schedule, and technical Program performance
Experience providing technical Systems Engineering plans and managing delivery across an integrated product team
Experience with Agile and DevOps Development
Experience with Command & Control Systems and Components
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with onboarding new work, proposals, and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development
Effective communication with all levels of a Program, customers, and technical leads such as IPTLs, Chief Engineers, System Architects, etc.
Experience in Systems Engineering functions including: Technical Performance Measurement (TPM), operations concept development, requirements management, technical risk management, interface definition and control
Experience leading major milestone reviews on large Programs
Experience leading across geographical sites, subcontractors, and associate contractor companies
Advanced STEM Degree
Development and/or Management experience on large software government contracts

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
