Sr. Manager, Supplier Quality
Supplier Quality Manager will direct the execution and performance of the company's Supplier Performance Program for top suppliers and responsible to overall Supplier Quality Management activities. Responsibilities includes measuring and monitoring supplier performance for Quality, Delivery, Cost and Support and all the associated activities for these 4 key performance areas.
Essential Functions:
In order to work effectively as a Sr. Manager Supplier Quality, the position is expected to:
Form strong partnerships with purchasing, engineering, manufacturing engineering and program managers so that high level objectives are met related to NPI and supplier performance.
Manage and serve as lead auditor for Supplier Quality, as required. Assist in the qualification, selection, and development of new suppliers as needed. Follow-up responsibility to ensure Supplier Corrective Actions Requests SCARs meets Omnicell requirements.
Assist suppliers in formation of statistical sampling plans, inspection methodology, and procedures. Provide technical consultation on statistically valid sampling plans for inspection and acceptance criteria.
Responsible for managing this area through direct reports and cross-functional team members to complete agreed upon objectives.
Serve as technical resource for process improvements projects such as alternative measurement/testing methodologies, and supplier supplied data, and Master Lot qualification programs.
Train suppliers and employees on Problem solving methodologies through classical & experimental design methods by using 6 sigma approach.
Assist in Receiving Inspection operations, supplier survey/ audit responsibilities, and new product introduction operations. Assist Production & Quality in resolving internal and external audit findings and observations, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions related to supplier’s performance.
Support process capability analyses (CpK) to investigate the ability of suppliers and production processes to meet defined specifications and quality standards.
Manage and facilitate the root cause & corrective actions system through tracking and validation of issues and support in root cause analysis through facilitating brainstorming, use of fishbone diagrams, 8D methodologies, CAPA and design of experiments, etc.
Lead / facilitate review and disposition of discrepant materials identified.
Monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
Required Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
Engineering bachelors degree required (IE/ME/EE )
MS degree and Six Sigma certification is preferred.
10+ years of experience with Industrial/manufacturing engineering, supplier management, Manufacturing and Quality
Demonstrable knowledge of Quality in a manufacturing environment with medical device and other products which includes Hardware and Software complexities.
Demonstrable knowledge of Quality processes and tools
Developing and delivering training packages for various quality functions to suppliers and employees
Specific training and demonstrated success in applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability analysis, 8D methodologies, CAPA, DoE, SPC, etc.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and FDA CFR820
Strong leadership
Ability to work cross-functionally
