This position reports to the EVP of Strategy and Corporate Development, who reports directly to the CEO. This Strategy and Corporate Development role requires an individual who is an analytical strategic thinker and influencer, process oriented, and possesses superior financial acumen with a collaborative leadership style. Strategy and Corporate Development serves as an excellent platform to develop senior leadership relationships and understand and impact the top corporate priorities and initiatives. This position will support and drive strategic initiatives that deliver long-term growth and higher profitability. It provides multiple career paths within BrandSafway.
Responsibilities
Drive strategy initiatives and execution in collaboration with business and functional leaders and teams.
Evolve the strategic plan by identifying and driving new strategic initiatives to ensure the company realizes its long term strategic and financial goals.
Identify and execute on strategic M&A and integration plans.
Define, support, and drive the company’s key strategic initiatives
Play a leadership role in strategy setting exercises, strategic planning, and supporting analyses.
Conduct market, competitive, and internal analysis to identify new growth opportunities (organic and inorganic) or operational performance initiatives
Develop strategic rationale for acquisitions and investments including how it fits into BrandSafway’s strategy
Monitor and track universe of potential strategic acquisitions through industry landscape analysis, company profiling and working with internal leadership teams
Assist in the execution of mergers and acquisitions, including conducting market landscapes, performing financial analyses, and coordinating aspects of due diligence and post-merger integration
Develop financial rationale including pro forma financials, transaction synergies and various valuation analyses.
Collaborate with leaders in the organization on implementation of strategic and integration initiatives.
Work closely with business leaders on post-acquisition integration activities and ensure value realization targets are achieved with an effective integration and transition process.
Qualifications
7+ years strategy / corporate development experience
At least 3 years of experience with a leading strategy consulting or investment banking firm
Strategic thinker with deep experience in problem solving, insight generation, and quantitative analysis
Able to disaggregate a problem or project, structure analysis and frameworks, and coach others to execute
An accomplished communicator in discussions and presenting, with ability to structure effective presentations
An agent of change to influence and align perspectives and prepare people and organizations to act with urgency
Experience working on M&A-related transactions
Experience with financial/business case modeling – projections and valuation
Energy and edge that serve as catalyst for action and change in the organization
Ability to manage ambiguity and apply structure to complex issues and opportunities
Able to operate with limited direction
Exhibit strong ability to develop internal and external relationships
Ability to effectively communicate problems, analytics, and proposed solutions to facilitate decision making and action
Transaction and project-related travel may be required, which may represent 20% of person’s time
Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) with emphasis on business, strategy, accounting/finance, analytics or economics
