We are currently hiring a Sr. Manager Facilities Engineer in Breinigsville, PA or Cincinnati, OhProvide technical leadership for Boston Beer's Facility engineering program. This position has multi-site corporate responsibility for production breweries located in PA, OH & DE with a focus on utilities and facility centric sustainability initiatives including, capacity/capability expansion, cost savings, asset lifecycle replacement, new technologies, and innovations. The role will also function as a vital link between Boston Beer's Corporate Engineering and corporate Sustainability efforts, with a concerted focus on driving progress toward goals and targets related to utility consumption and efficiency. Manage a team of 5-6 direct reports (project managers, project engineers, third-party construction managers, consulting engineers) across sites.What You'll Brew:Facilities and Utilities Engineering:Interfacing with Engineering management and colleagues, Brewery management, Supply Chain leadership, and Corporate Finance to organize and resource the SUF portion of the annual Capital Plan which services the key Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Environmental Sustainability, Innovation, Capability and Service needs and goals for the business.Liaising regularly with Boston Beer's Sr. Manager for Sustainability to ensure engineering projects and activities are aligned with corporate vision, goals, and KPI's for Sustainability related to utilities and facilities.Providing input into the evaluation and approval of capital expenditure proposals for the whole of Boston Beer company Sustainability, Utility, and Facility operations. Providing input/advocacy on capital investment and monitoring and driving results to assure maximum return on capital investments and planned Supply Chain Sustainability, Utility, and Facility projects and goals.Providing expertise on capital projects by leading the development of specifications for Facilities and Utilities Assets and Automation. Expertise is maintained continuously and at a high level via industry benchmarking, ongoing close relationships with key suppliers and participation in business specific innovation execution.Accountable for the largest and most complex Utility, Facility, and Sustainability capital projects from concept to completion and commissioning for the Boston Beer Company.Participating as key Subject Matter Expert in Boston Beer's sustainability reporting and disclosure efforts. This includes supporting collection, validation, and reporting of utilities data for use in the calculation and reporting of metrics including (but not limited to) GHG emissions, consumption intensity, and progress toward energy and water reduction goals/targets.Driving implementation of engineering solutions to complex operational issues to ensure a high percentage of Utilities and Facilities uptime.Managing project installation/construction, start-up, commissioning, and effective training on technology to brewery operating personnel.Primary technical Utility and Facility engineering interface with Brewery Leadership.Lead ideation for Facilities and Utilities concepts, completing proof of principle testing when applicable, resourcing and then scaling-up the concept through deployment while ensuring technical rigor and minimizing disruptions to daily brewery operations.Identifying, developing, and deploying innovative new Facilities and Utilities technology, energy efficiency or optimization practices, and systems that bring competitive cost or environmental sustainability advantage to Boston Beer.Management and Leadership:Leading and developing a team of Engineers and Project Managers to facilitate from design, through construction, commissioning, qualification and verification of Sustainability, Utility and Facility focused capital and non-capital projects by planning, directing and delegating work assignments, approving purchasing ecisions, coordinating scheduling, etc.Building and sustaining a culture of employee engagement, efficient execution, and an environment where individuals and the team can excel and continuously improve.Building capacity in direct reports to fully understand and advance the role that Utilities and Facilities management play in the company's progress toward becoming a more environmentally sustainable beverage manufacturer.Interfacing with brewery management and personnel to provide hands-on situational troubleshooting expertise as well as identification, investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of new and innovative projects, processes, or equipment to achieve operating cost reductions, capacity expansions, manufacturing flexibility improvement opportunities, improved product quality, and governmental compliance with a focus on Sustainability, Utilities and Facilities.Leading the development of new or improved Utility and Facility equipment, processes, structures, designs, and materials.Liaise and coordinate with Boston Beer Corporate Sr. Manager of Real Estate and Facilities on projects as appropriate.Identifying and developing the application of new technologies which improve company Sustainability, Utility, and Facility operations and processes.Supervising designer/draftsman, and outside consulting engineers as assigned, managing work scheduling, work quality, and performance.Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a constantly changing, fast-paced work environment.Travel as required based on home location to support other production breweries in the network.What Ingredients You'll Bring:Minimum Qualifications:15+ years combined experience in engineering for utilities and facilities in beverage, food, CPG, or related industrial manufacturing environment5+ years managing professionals and engineersExtensive practical experience withIndustrial building construction and systems, industrial HVAC systems, roofing and flooringConstruction and site use permittingWarehouse equipment to include racking, dock doors, shelters, levelers, trailer restraintsSite security systemsStormwater runoff mitigation and regulationLarge scale ammonia refrigeration systems, large scale steam boilers, air compressorsHigh flow chilled water distributionCO2 collection, storage, and truck unloadingLiquid nitrogen truck unloading, storage, vaporization and distributionWater treatment to include filtration, water softening, degasification, carbon treatment, deaeration, heat transfer and reverse osmosis,Bulk chemical truck unloading, storage, and distribution to include caustic, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acidWastewater pH correction, pre-treatment, and source reductionData collection, analysis, and communication of results/trends/findings to a diverse, cross-functional group of stakeholdersOther operations and major equipment systems in food/beverage of CPG industries.Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering projects which drive triple bottom line results which benefit cost, people, and the environment.Experience or working knowledge of environmental sustainability concepts such as greenhouse gas emissions, green building principles/technologies, energy audits, etc.Experience in fast-paced manufacturing environment a plusExceptional project management skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsValue engineering expertiseDemonstrated project/idea development skillsSolid financial aptitudeProven problem solving/conflict resolution skills;
